The mission.
About Josh Ricketts
Josh Ricketts is a Sports Therapist (BSc) and Strength & Conditioning (MSc) Coach who bridges the gap between injury rehabilitation and athletic performance. With a BSc in Sports Therapy and an MSc in Strength & Conditioning, Josh has worked with athletes across a wide range of sports, helping them recover from injury and return to competition stronger than before. Josh Ricketts provides sports therapy, injury rehabilitation, sports massage, cupping, dry needling post op rehab, world class rehab and strength & conditioning coaching in Swindon, Wiltshire.
The mission.
The mission is simple: too many athletes are getting injured through non-contact and preventable mechanisms. The goal is to return athletes to sport. Not recovered, but performing at a higher level than before injury.
Across sport, around 70% of injuries occur through non-contact mechanisms, affecting everyone from elite athletes to Sunday league players and people training in the gym for general fitness.
Josh’s approach focuses on addressing the underlying causes of injury, building resilient athletes, and developing long-term performance rather than short-term fixes.
Proven Results
Over the past five years, Josh has worked with thousands of athletes and active individuals, supporting them through injury rehabilitation and performance development. Recent client successes include, Athletes qualifying for World Championship competitions, Players progressing from missing out on local teams to representing their country, Athletes returning to international sport after major surgery, Individuals regaining confidence and strength following spinal surgery and Athletes over 30 achieving personal best lifts after ACL reconstruction rehabilitation.
Research shows that around 30% of athletes re-tear their ACL after surgery, over 60% don’t feel the same again, from failed rehab, no support and no plan. Through structured rehabilitation, progressive strength development, and return-to-sport testing, Josh focuses on reducing this risk and helping athletes rebuild properly.
Experience Across Elite and Everyday Sport
Josh has worked with a wide range of clients, from elite performers to everyday athletes. This includes, NFL International Pathway athletes, Professional rugby players, Olympians and national-level competitors Club athletes across multiple sports, Active individuals wanting to move and perform pain-free
Based in Swindon, Josh delivers rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and performance coaching both in person and online, helping clients rebuild stronger and stay in the game for the long term.
The Philosophy
Rehabilitation and performance should never be treated as separate processes.
Whether someone is returning from injury, preparing for competition, or simply wanting to move and train better, every programme is built around the individual’s goals, lifestyle, and performance demands.
Using a combination of hands-on therapy, structured rehabilitation, and athletic strength training, Josh helps clients move confidently from recovery to performance.
“My goal is to rebuild you properly, not just get out of pain, but return fitter, faster stronger and performing at your best.”
